Jarreau's health is 'improving' | Music | Entertainment | Toronto Sun

Jazz star Al Jarreau's condition is "improving" - but he will be under the watch of medics at a hospital in France for several more days.

The 70-year-old musician collapsed before he was due to perform at a music festival in Barcelonnette, in the southern French Alps, on Thursday.

He was taken to a nearby hospital but was airlifted by helicopter to another in nearby Marseille on Saturday after the altitude caused problems with his breathing.

The singer has stabilised since being transferred and his rep insists his health continues to get better.

The spokesperson tells the Associated Press, "The state of his health is improving. The problem is that he wants to get out but doctors plan to keep him here for another few days."
