Dave Holland: A Jazz Bassist's Bassist : NPR

Jazz bassist Dave Holland is known for the lyricism of his playing, for his mentoring of younger players and for his humility as a bandleader. Check out this NPR interview. Dave Holland is a superb bassist. He started working with Miles Davis when he was 19 then he became a fixture on New York City's loft jazz scene of the 1970s. Since then he has worked with just about every significant jazz player. I have had the good fortune of seeing him play quite often, as well as producing a jazz festival which featured his group.
