The Calgary Jazz Festival scheduled to begin today has been cancelled after C-Jazz executives realized at a board meeting Saturday (June 19) that “there was no possibility of financial success in 2010.”
C-Jazz president Richard Sherry broke the news via a written release after a six-hour meeting during which the festival’s financial aspects were given close examination. The decision to call off the event, he admitted, was “painful.” More...
