Guy Davis
The 2005 Nightfall Concert Series continues this Friday, Aug. 12, at Miller Plaza, with blues musician Guy Davis.

Reviw for Guy Davis:
Guy Davis is a musician, composer, actor, director and a writer, but most importantly, he is a Bluesman. Among his many accomplishments are winning Blues Album of the Year for his album You Don’t Know My Mind and arranging, performing and co-writing the music for the Emmy Award-winning film To Be a Man.

His latest album, Legacy, shows how Davis has been steadily improving at his craft since he arrived a few years back. He has a natural understanding of his material and an intellectual vision of it. Besides top-notch performances of well-chosen songs, mostly traditional and a few original, there's a message with this CD.

Opening act Dana Rogers will take the stage at 7 p.m. followed by Guy Davis at 8 p.m.

Nightfall has been bringing an eclectic mix of rock, blues, jazz, reggae, zydeco, funk, bluegrass and folk music to Downtown Chattanooga for the past 18 years.

Local musicians take the stage at 7 p.m. to get the crowd ready for headline performances by national and international talent beginning at 8 p.m.

This free 17-week series is held in Miller Plaza on Friday evenings from Memorial Day weekend through Sept. 30.

Beer, liquor, food and non-alcoholic drink concessions are available on site. No outside food or beverages are allowed. A limited number of handicapped parking spaces will be available on Georgia Avenue in front of the Joel Solomon Federal Building.

Corporate sponsors for this year’s series are Kelly Subaru, Fletcher Bright Company, Bud Light, Southern Honda Powersports, Allied Arts, The Chattanoogan, Fox 61 and NPR/Music 88.
