The late South African composer/pianist and band leader Abdullah Ibrahim, AKA Dollar Brand has passed at the age of 91. I saw him many times at Sweet Basil in NYC during the seventies and early eighties. He led a big band for a while there on Monday nights. I really enjoyed watching him play. This was his biggest hit.
